Each key opens a place you will want to linger in, not merely a bed for the night.
Nothing is too minor.
We check the pool temperature every two hours. We restock the bar before you realise it is low. We learn your name on day one and your coffee order on day two. None of this sounds remarkable on its own. The point is that we do it for every guest, every day, for 51 years running.
There is a right way to do this work and a wrong way. Across 51 years we have chosen one and held to it. Everyone on our team — from the front desk to the kitchen porters — has been selected, trained and retained because they share the same sense of what good looks like. A building alone cannot create that. It comes from people.
We hope you will come and judge for yourself. And when you do, we hope you will tell us where we fell short, so that the next 51 years improve on the last.
Small details, handled well
None of it is showy. All of it is intentional. That is what draws our regulars back.
Sunset Terraces
Three open-air dining decks facing west, laid out so that no two tables ever look straight at one another. The golden hour here lasts about forty minutes. We have shaped the menu, the music, and the lighting around it for years now.

Jazz evenings in the main bar, headline performers in the rotunda, and intimate lounge sets four nights a week. The pianist on Thursday has been part of the house for years. Some guests travel here solely to hear him.
